Country Days Tracker is the fullest stay-day counter on the App Store, but its free version shows only the last seven days. Stretch counts every country free forever, on iPhone and Android, with a source and a checked date on every rule. Here is how I would choose.

## Who each one is for

Pick Country Days Tracker if you have years of travel to rebuild from photos and flights, if you are counting UK ILR or UAE absences, or if you want a Mac app — and will pay from day eight. Pick Stretch if you want a counter that stays free, keeps your whole history and already knows each country's rule.

**Every rule Stretch counts is published with its source and the date I last checked it → [the rulebook](https://doastretch.com/visa/).**

## TL;DR

| Feature | Stretch | Country Days Tracker | Winner |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free tier | Every country, whole history, free forever | The last seven days | **Stretch** |
| Price | Stretch+ $49.99/yr | Pro $5.99 or $6.99/mo, $34.99/yr | **Split** |
| Platforms | iPhone and Android | iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision; no Android | **Stretch** |
| Which rules | Every destination on your passports | You set the limit yourself | **Stretch** |
| Rebuilding history | Log past stays by hand | Photo and flight import | **Country Days Tracker** |
| Reminders | 14, 7, 3, 1 days and on the day | No schedule stated | **Stretch** |
| Visa Desk | Prepares your forms with you | Not offered | **Stretch** |

Country Days Tracker is the most complete stay-day counter on the App Store: automatic counting, Schengen, custom areas, photo and flight import, attachments, PDF export, and absence rules for UK ILR and UAE residency. Reviewers who pay say it replaced their spreadsheet. The trouble is what happens if you do not pay — "Can only view the past 7 days without having to pay" — and a seven-day window cannot keep you legal.

## Quick verdict

| If you want… | Choose |
| --- | --- |
| Five years of history rebuilt from photos and flights | Country Days Tracker (Pro) |
| UK ILR or UAE absences counted, on a Mac too | Country Days Tracker (Pro) |
| A counter free forever, with reminders | **Stretch** |
| The same app on Android and iPhone | **Stretch** |
| Your visa and entry-declaration forms prepared with you | **Stretch** |

## Country Days Tracker at a glance

**What it is.** A stay-day counter by Andrey Solovyev, on the App Store since 2022, version 7.5 (11 July 2026). It counts days per country over 183 or 365 days or any range you set, with a Stay Limit Manager for a limit and dates. There is a Schengen 90/180 calculator, custom areas, restore-from-photos, restore-from-flights (Flighty, App in the Air), air and sea days, PDF and CSV export, attachments on any day, and — new in 7.5 — absence rules aimed at UK ILR and UAE residency. No account, offline, twelve languages.

**Price.** Free to download; the free version shows the last seven days. Everything else is Pro: $5.99 or $6.99 a month, or $34.99 a year (£4.99 / £5.99 a month, £23.49 a year, in the UK), checked 17 August 2026. Reviews from 2024 and 2025 quote $23.99 and $29.99 a year, so the yearly price has risen twice.

**Platforms.** iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision. No Android app I could confirm.

**Rating.** 4.0★ from 73 US ratings, 4.0★ from 99 UK ratings. The five-stars praise the photo import; the one-stars are almost all the free tier.

## Stretch at a glance

**The app.** A counter for every country you enter. Log the day you land — two taps — and Stretch shows the days left, the date you must be out, and reminders at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days out and on the day. It counts limits that reset when you leave and rolling windows like Schengen's [90-in-180](https://doastretch.com/alternatives/best-schengen-calculator-apps/) from one log, and shows a source and a checked date on every rule. Free forever, whole history, so a lapsed card cannot cause an overstay.

**Stretch+.** $49.99 a year, with a 7-day trial. It adds entry stamps for every destination on your passports, on-device GPS you confirm at each border, tax-day tallies, planning and travel-history PDFs, and the Visa Desk: it prepares your tourist-visa and entry-declaration forms with you; you review, pay the government and submit.

## Feature comparison

### The free tier

The rival's free version is a sampler. My August 2026 market review recorded a seven-day window, and the listing never names the limit — it says only that you can "continue using Country Days Tracker for free". Its reviewers: "The free version gives you a last 7 days overview"; "Shows only last 7 days and you have to open the app daily". The developer's reply is that it is "designed to give users a glimpse of the app's capabilities". Stretch's free tier is the safety promise itself: every country's counter, your whole history, the must-exit date, reminders and documents, free forever. A rolling 180-day window needs 180 days of history. Seven days cannot do the arithmetic.

Winner Stretch — a counter you can rely on without a card on file.

### Who knows the rule

Country Days Tracker counts over 183, 365 or any range, does the Schengen 90/180 window, and since 7.5 handles absence rules for UK ILR and UAE residency, which Stretch does not offer. But you supply the numbers: set a limit, pick a date range. Stretch already holds the rule for every destination on your passports, each with its source, checked date and trust label, published at [doastretch.com/visa](https://doastretch.com/visa/). For Schengen on its own, [the free calculator](https://doastretch.com/tools/schengen-90-180-calculator/) does it in your browser.

Winner Stretch for knowing the rule and where it came from; Country Days Tracker for absence rules and custom areas.

### Rebuilding history, and the maker

Credit where it is due. Country Days Tracker rebuilds your past from photo metadata and flight apps, and turns it into a PDF for a DS-160 or a residency file. Reviewers call the photo import "genius", and the reviews are full of "very responsive administrator". Stretch has you log past stays with their real dates — nothing inferred — and the arithmetic corrects itself. With five years to rebuild, they are faster.

Winner Country Days Tracker — the import is its best work, and its reviews say the same of its developer.

### Reminders, documents and privacy

Country Days Tracker promises "automatic updates as you travel" and a widget, but names no reminder schedule; it attaches photos and notes to any day, which is useful, and Pro. Stretch sets the must-exit date when you log an entry, reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days out and on the day, free, and keeps your e-visas on the stay they cover with the arrival cards you must file before you fly. Both are account-free and offline, but the rival's privacy label lists identifiers and usage data "used to track you", and advertising data linked to your identity — odd, beside "no personal data required". Stretch has no server, no analytics, and only the Visa Desk sends anything, during a session, keeping nothing.

Winner Stretch — the reminders, the paperwork due before you fly, and nothing to track you with.

### GPS and tax days

Country Days Tracker's automatic counting is its headline and mostly works, with the occasional "Some days it logs, others have to be entered manually". Stretch's GPS stays on the device and asks you to confirm every border. On tax days they are close: their 183/365 counts and custom areas are a serious tool, and Stretch+ tallies 183-day windows from the same log as the visa counter.

Winner Tie — with the confirmation step to Stretch, so no invented days.

### Price and platforms

Their top tier is $6.99 a month, or $83.88 a year paid monthly; the yearly plan is $34.99. Stretch's one paid plan is $49.99 a year. Year for year they are five dollars cheaper — and you have to buy it to see more than a week. Country Days Tracker also runs on iPad, Mac and Apple Vision, and the Mac app is a real advantage. There is no Android app I could confirm: the developer's site links only to the App Store, and the Play listing that reuses the name sits under a differently spelled developer.

Winner Split — their $34.99 year is cheaper, and the Mac app is real; Stretch's counter is free where theirs shows seven days, and it is the one on Android.

## Choose Country Days Tracker if you…

- have years of travel to reconstruct and want photo and flight imports to do it for you;
- are counting UK ILR or UAE absences and want custom absence rules, on a Mac as well as an iPhone;
- will pay from day eight, because the free version cannot do the job.

## Choose Stretch if you…

- **want the counter and your documents free, forever** — whole history, no seven-day window;
- **want each country's rule already in the app**, with its source, instead of typing the limit yourself;
- **want the exit date set the day you land**, and reminders at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days;
- **use Android**, or travel with someone who does.

## How we evaluated

- What the free tier lets you do, and whether it can keep you legal on its own
- Whether the app knows the rule, or asks you to type it in
- Whether a rule shows its source and its checked date
