Every figure here is as barbadoswelcomestamp.bb publishes it, checked 18 August 2026. Where a number is our own arithmetic rather than a printed figure, the row says so.

## What to know before you apply

Confirmed open on 18 August 2026 — the site serves a live application form. Two claims that circulate on commercial sites could NOT be verified and are not published here: a 25% renewal discount, and an extension of the programme to 31 December 2026; neither appears on any official page, and the official FAQ page is blocked by the site's firewall. The underlying legislation is the Remote Employment Act 2020, which was not read directly.

## What it means for your tax days

Official statement: "You will not be liable to pay Barbados Income Tax and therefore will not be subject to any double taxation." Holders still pay the 17.5% VAT on goods and services bought on the island. A visa is permission to stay; tax residency follows the days. Barbados treats you as tax resident once you are present 182 days An individual becomes resident by spending more than 182 days, in the aggregate, in Barbados in an income (calendar) year. The days of departure and arrival are both included in the count. Recorded as published (more than 182 days)., and residents are taxed on worldwide income. Days are not the only test: ORDINARILY RESIDENT is a separate status: a person qualifies if they have permanent accommodation available for their personal use in Barbados and notify the Revenue Commissioner of their intention to reside there for at least two consecutive income years. DOMICILE is a question of intention, and long-term residence does not by itself determine domicile — this matters because the charge to tax turns on it.
