## What to know before you apply

No digital nomad or remote-worker visa exists. The closest long-stay route is Residencia como Rentista. The official requirements sheet states the applicant must show permanent, lawful and stable income generated abroad or domestically of not less than USD 2,500.00 PER MONTH, plus a USD 300.00 fee, a certificate proving ownership of income-generating assets, and — the practical obstacle for most remote workers — proof that the income is received in Honduras through an institution of the national financial system. A parallel pensioner category exists for foreign pension income. NOT VERIFIED: the migration institute's own site was unreachable throughout, so its catalogue could not be confirmed, nor the pensioner threshold, validity term, renewal rules or tax treatment; the commonly repeated claims that the rentier residency is one-year renewable, needs only one entry a year, leads to citizenship after three years, and exempts foreign income from tax are NOT on the official document read and are not asserted here.

## What it means for your tax days

A visa is permission to stay; tax residency follows the days you actually spend. Check Honduras's tax authority for the day test that applies to you — and count the days either way.

A visa and tax residency are different things: the visa lets you stay, the tax rules follow the days you actually spend. Check Honduras's tax authority for the day test that applies to you.

**How does Stretch help with the Honduras stay?**

Log the day you land and Stretch counts the days against the permission you are on, shows the date you must be out, and reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days. It also tallies the days that count towards tax residency, so the 183-day question answers itself. The counting and the alerts are free, forever.
