**How we know**

We could not reach an official government page for this one when we checked. What follows is the best published source we could read — treat it as a lead, not as the rule, and confirm with the consulate.

Sources are listed further down the page.

## What to know before you apply

NOTHING HAS LAUNCHED, and the status is recorded as "none" rather than "announced" for a specific reason: we found no Mongolian government page — not the Immigration Agency, not the e-Visa portal, not the MFA Consular Department — that announces, describes or opens applications for a digital nomad visa. The Immigration Agency's own authoritative page "Mongolian visa type, purpose and duration" enumerates every visa class and contains no such category: work classes C1-C11 (construction; science, education and IT; geology, mining, oil and energy; finance, economics and law; culture, arts and sport; manufacturing and services; agriculture; healthcare; humanitarian; household care; transport and cargo), study classes E1-E5, and tourism/temporary classes K2 (tourism), K3 (border-area tourism), K6 (transit) and K8 (medical treatment). There is no category for remote work, freelancing or self-employment. If a 2024-25 announcement was made, it has left no trace on any of these three official sites as of 18 August 2026. CLOSEST LONG-STAY ROUTE: a K2 tourism visa or a C-class work visa. Published durations, verbatim: single or double entry "up to 90 days stay / 150 days validity"; multiple entry for temporary residents "up to 30 days / 183-365 days validity". The e-Visa portal states that e-visas are "non-extendable and non-convertible" and requires 180 days of passport validity. VISA FEES COULD NOT BE VERIFIED: the Immigration Agency's English pages link to a Service Fee section but publish no readable visa fee table, and the e-Visa portal discloses no fee. A Mongolian-language notice quoting "1 хүний 7$" (USD 7 per person) is a residence-permit card service fee, not a visa fee, and has not been recorded as one.

## What it means for your tax days

A visa is permission to stay; tax residency follows the days you actually spend. Check Mongolia's tax authority for the day test that applies to you — and count the days either way.

**Does a digital nomad visa in Mongolia make you tax resident?**

A visa and tax residency are different things: the visa lets you stay, the tax rules follow the days you actually spend. Check Mongolia's tax authority for the day test that applies to you.

**How does Stretch help with the Mongolia stay?**

Log the day you land and Stretch counts the days against the permission you are on, shows the date you must be out, and reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days. It also tallies the days that count towards tax residency, so the 183-day question answers itself. The counting and the alerts are free, forever.
