## What to know before you apply

The reported 2025 Nigeria digital nomad visa does NOT exist as an issued visa class. Nigeria did overhaul its visa system in 2025 — the Nigeria Immigration Service launched a fully online e-Visa (evisa.immigration.gov.ng, live from March 2025, decisions within 48 hours, stays of 30 to 90 days) plus digital Landing and Exit Cards and e-CERPAC, announced by the Federal Ministry of Interior on 30 June 2025 in the Guide to Nigeria Immigration Processes 2025. But neither the NIS services catalogue (Nigeria Visas, Regular Visa, e-Visa, Temporary Work Permit, CERPAC, e-CERPAC, Landing and Exit Card) nor the NIS visa pages contain any digital nomad, remote work or freelance category — a keyword scan of the NIS visa pages returns zero matches for 'nomad' or 'remote work'. The tourism e-visa does not authorise work of any kind. Closest long-stay routes: the Temporary Work Permit (TWP), for short assignments at the invitation of a Nigerian entity, and CERPAC (Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card) for expatriates employed by a Nigerian-registered company under an expatriate quota. Neither is available to a self-supporting remote worker.

## What it means for your tax days

A visa is permission to stay; tax residency follows the days you actually spend. Check Nigeria's tax authority for the day test that applies to you — and count the days either way.

**Does a digital nomad visa in Nigeria make you tax resident?**

A visa and tax residency are different things: the visa lets you stay, the tax rules follow the days you actually spend. Check Nigeria's tax authority for the day test that applies to you.

**How does Stretch help with the Nigeria stay?**

Log the day you land and Stretch counts the days against the permission you are on, shows the date you must be out, and reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days. It also tallies the days that count towards tax residency, so the 183-day question answers itself. The counting and the alerts are free, forever.
