## What to know before you apply

The IT Visa is not a general digital nomad visa — it requires a tie to an IT Park resident entity. This is NOT a general digital nomad visa — it is tied to Uzbekistan's IT Park regime and requires a connection to an IT Park resident legal entity (as employee, founder or investor). Uzbekistan has no route for an unaffiliated remote worker; unaffiliated visitors use the e-visa (e-visa.gov.uz) or the visa-free regime. Duration is stated by IT Park: "It is valid for 3 years and allows to work in Uzbekistan without a work permit." The formerly advertised itvisa.uz domain now redirects to it-relocation.uz, which renders client-side and returned no readable content; the figures here are taken from the my.gov.uz service page and IT Park's outsource.gov.uz page. No fee, renewal terms or processing time are officially published.

## What it means for your tax days

IT Park residency carries substantial income-tax reductions for employees of resident companies; no rate is stated on the IT Visa pages themselves, so no figure is recorded here. A visa is permission to stay; tax residency follows the days. Uzbekistan treats you as tax resident once you are present 183 days MORE THAN 183 calendar days in aggregate — so 184 days triggers residence, and exactly 183 days does not — during any consecutive twelve-month period beginning or ending in the tax period for which status is being determined, and residents are taxed on worldwide income. Days are not the only test: Article 30 of the Tax Code. Beyond the main day count, a person is ALSO a tax resident if in the relevant tax period they were present in Uzbekistan for fewer than 183 days in aggregate but MORE THAN THEY WERE PRESENT IN ANY OTHER STATE. An individual may apply to be recognised as a resident BEFORE the twelve-month period expires by producing a long-term employment contract or equivalent. Departures for short-term (under six months) medical treatment or study do not interrupt the count. Time spent as a person with diplomatic or consular status, as staff of an international organisation established by a treaty to which Uzbekistan is a party, or as a family member of such persons is EXCLUDED from the count, provided no entrepreneurial activity is carried on. Uzbek servicemen serving abroad and state officials seconded abroad are deemed residents regardless of days. Days of entry and exit are evidenced by border-control stamps. ## Questions people ask about Uzbekistan

**Does Uzbekistan have a digital nomad visa?**

No — not a dedicated one. Uzbekistan has no digital-nomad-specific visa; remote workers use the IT Visa instead, which has its own rules. The IT Visa is not a general digital nomad visa — it requires a tie to an IT Park resident entity. This is NOT a general digital nomad visa — it is tied to Uzbekistan's IT Park regime and requires a connection to an IT Park resident legal entity (as employee, founder or investor). **How much do you need to earn for the Uzbekistan digital nomad visa?**

$30,000 a year — For the IT-specialist route, verbatim: an IT specialist "is employed in a legal entity of a resident of the Republic of Uzbekistan in an IT specialty and confirms his income from IT activities is not less than the equivalent of 30,000 US dollars for the last 12 months at the time of application." A separate investor route requires financing of "at least the equivalent of 10 thousand US dollars" to an IT-sector legal entity; the founder route has no income figure.. That is the figure as published; check the official page for the current amount before you apply.

**How long can you stay on the Uzbekistan digital nomad visa?**

36 months on the initial permission. Stretch counts the days either way and tells you the date you must be out.

**Does a digital nomad visa in Uzbekistan make you tax resident?**

Not by itself — but staying does. Uzbekistan treats you as tax resident once you are there 183 days MORE THAN 183 calendar days in aggregate — so 184 days triggers residence, and exactly 183 days does not — during any consecutive twelve-month period beginning or ending in the tax period for which status is being determined, and residents are taxed on worldwide income. IT Park residency carries substantial income-tax reductions for employees of resident companies; no rate is stated on the IT Visa pages themselves, so no figure is recorded here. See our Uzbekistan tax-day page for the tests and the official source.

**How does Stretch help with the Uzbekistan digital nomad visa?**

Log the day you land and Stretch counts the days against the permission you are on, shows the date you must be out, and reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days. It also tallies the days that count towards tax residency, so the 183-day question answers itself. The counting and the alerts are free, forever.
