## How the counting works

There is NO personal income tax on employment income in Saudi Arabia. Article 2 of the Income Tax Law lists the persons subject to tax; the only natural-person limb is "الشخص الطبيعي المقيم غير السعودي الذي يمارس النشاط في المملكة" — the resident non-Saudi natural person who carries on an activity (business) in the Kingdom. Salaries and wages of employees appear nowhere in the charging provision. Article 6(b) confirms territoriality: the tax base of a resident non-Saudi natural person is his taxable income from any activity "from sources in the Kingdom", less allowable expenses — hence worldwideIncome false. Residence therefore matters for treaty relief and for business taxation of non-Saudi individuals, not for a general income tax charge. SOURCE NOTE: ZATCA publishes no reachable English text of the Income Tax Law itself (the English page links only to the Implementing Regulations), so the Arabic PDF is the authoritative source cited. The frequently repeated statement that GCC citizens are treated as Saudis and pay zakat rather than income tax is NOT in Articles 2 or 3, which say only "non-Saudi"; it is therefore not asserted here.

## Why the day count is the part you can control

Ties, homes and intentions are argued after the fact; days are a record. That is why the first thing an adviser asks for is a list of the days you were in the country — and why reconstructing it from boarding passes and photos a year later is a bad afternoon. Log each stay as it happens and the tally is simply there, with the dates that produced it.
