iReside at a glance

What it is. A tax-residency and visa tracker by G2M Ventures LLC of St. Petersburg, Florida; version 1.0 landed on 4 January 2026 and 2.0.2 on 5 August. Background GPS builds a day-by-day history, one place per civil day, counted against US state thresholds, Canadian provinces, the 183-day rule, the US Substantial Presence Test and UK Statutory Residence Test bands. Since 2.0 it also does Schengen 90/180, 40+ visa presets and custom rules, and a "Where Can I Go" lookup covers 199 passports offline, date-stamped, with the official source linked.

Price. A free trial — 30 days per the App Store, 14 per its own FAQ — then $3.99 a month, $34.99 a year, or a $39.99 yearly tier also listed (checked 17 August 2026). No free tier after that. Switchers from Monaeo, TaxDay, TaxBird or Domicile365 get their first year free.

Platforms. iPhone only (iOS 16.6 or later), plus a web dashboard and a CPA portal. The "iReside" on Google Play is an unrelated proof-of-residence app, last updated April 2024, and iReside's own download link sends Android phones to the App Store.

Rating. 4.8★ from 50 ratings in seven months. One reviewer: "I recently made the switch from domicile365 because it wasn't working and was way more expensive than iReside." I found no negative review to quote.

Stretch at a glance

Both read every rule you are under off one history of where you were. iReside's engine is good: rolling windows, tax-year caps, limits that reset when you leave, presence minimums like Canada's 730-in-5, and a rule you can build yourself. Stretch goes the other way: for every destination on your passports the rule is already there, source and checked date attached. If Schengen's rolling 180-day window is your only number, the free calculator answers it.

Where the rules come from

Credit first: iReside's lookup is date-stamped, links the official source and tells you to confirm with the embassy — more honest than most. It covers US states, Canadian provinces, the 29 Schengen countries, 40+ presets and 199 passports. Stretch also says how far to trust each rule — verified, one source, reported, or sources disagree — and publishes the lot, so you can read what it counts before you install it.

Alerts, documents and the forms

iReside warns subscribers at 10, 5 and 3 days before a limit or expiry, and stores passport and visa scans. Stretch sets the must-exit date when you log an entry and reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days and on the day, free — so the reminder that stops an overstay is never behind a lapsed card. Where iReside's lookup tells you a visa is required, the Visa Desk prepares the form with you; you pay the government and submit.

Winner Stretch — earlier, free, and it does something about the forms.

GPS logging and switching

iReside's home turf. Background tracking is the product: adaptive sampling, flyover states ignored, and a backfill from photo metadata and calendar files that never leaves the phone. It also migrates your history from Monaeo, TaxDay or Domicile365 by hand, and a reviewer says it went well: "iReside has been pretty seamless." Stretch's auto-logging (Stretch+) is on-device and you confirm every border yourself.

iReside does the US job properly: the Substantial Presence Test with the weighted three-year formula and a live count of the days left before you meet it, state and provincial thresholds, UK SRT bands at 16, 46, 91, 120 and 183 days, and a CPA portal your accountant can read. Stretch+ tallies 183-day windows and country tests from the same log as your visa days — enough to stay under a threshold, not a state-by-state audit file.

Winner iReside — this is what it was built for.

Price

iReside's headline is $34.99 a year and its top listed tier is $39.99, both under Stretch+ at $49.99. It is the cheaper subscription, and I won't pretend otherwise. The difference is underneath: iReside bills when the trial ends and everything sits behind that bill, while Stretch's counter, exit date and alerts stay free forever.

Account, privacy and platforms

iReside keeps documents on the device and says it never sells data, but your timeline syncs, encrypted, to an account on its database that the dashboard and CPA portal read. Stretch has no account and no server; only the Visa Desk sends anything, only during a session, keeping nothing. And iReside is iPhone-only: if you carry a Pixel, this comparison is already over.

Winner Stretch — nothing to sign into, and the only one of the two on Android.
