Best 90 Days Schengen alternative for Android
90 Days Schengen is the most-installed Schengen counter on Android, free to look back and paid to plan ahead, and rated 3.0★ by its own users. Stretch counts Schengen free in any browser, sets the date you must be out, and counts every other country from the same log. Here is how I would choose.
Who this is for
Stay with 90 Days Schengen if you are on Android, already have a clean trip history in it and only ever check today's count. Look elsewhere if the forecast has given you a number you did not trust, if your trips have vanished, or if you would rather not pay to add a future trip.
Start with Stretch's free Schengen calculator →. Neither app is the official check — that is the EU's own calculator, which 90 Days Schengen points you to too.
TL;DR

| The number on the screen | The days you have now, and your exit date | Permitted stay, regained days folded in | Stretch |
| Planning ahead | Free counter always; what-ifs in Stretch+ | Future trips need the subscription | Stretch |
| Reminders | 14, 7, 3 and 1 days, and on the day | One notification at three days | Stretch |
| Your trips | On the phone, backups you control | Reviews report trips wiped; paid Drive backup | Stretch |

90 Days Schengen has counted Schengen days on Android since 2019, when nothing else did, and it is ad-free with a data-safety card that says no data collected. But 3.0★ across 694 reviews is a verdict of its own. Stretch is built the other way round: the counter is free forever, your trips stay on the phone with backups you hold, and the same log counts Thailand, Japan or Mexico.
Why people look for a 90 Days Schengen alternative
- The forecast, and the dial. "Forecast gave erroneous days and I ended up overstaying.. the app is giving one day back for every day extra, but the forecast shows 41days will be available on aug 1st, which is incorrect" (Stuart Donald, 1★, July 2022). "I put 10 days spain ×4 =40 Remaining 50 Its showing me 70 days?" (S Begum, 2★, March 2025). Its "permitted length of stay" is defensible; at the desk you need the days you have now.
- Trips that disappear. "Just checked today and has deleted all my inputted travel plan dates up to 2023 so no use to me if not storing the information" (Sonya Flynn, 1★, March 2022). Even a fan: "My only criticism is that when I changed phones, the days didn't follow..." (Alexander Cruickshank, 4★, October 2024). Automatic backup is paid.
- The paywall on planning. The most-upvoted review, with 39 helpful votes: "it doesn't allow entering future dates without paying (or agreeing a subscription), so can't even really test it properly" (Ian Flukie, 1★, March 2021). Adding a future trip is the whole point of a calculator.
- What the praise tells you to keep. "Best 90/180 calculator app there is, I've tried them all this one is the easiest to use" (Terry Baldock, 5★, October 2021) — a simple log, an ad-free screen, a number you can show at the desk.
How we evaluated
- Whether the number on the screen is the one a border officer computes
- Whether planning ahead is free, paid or absent
- Whether the app tells you, or waits to be opened
- What happens to your trips on a new phone, and who holds the backup

1. Stretch — the alternative built the other way round
Stretch does the arithmetic the way the rule is written: on every date it looks back 180 days and shows the days you have now, plus the date you must be out. Log the day you land and reminders follow at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days and on the day — free forever, no card, no trial that ends. There is no account and no server, so your trips stay on the phone and backups go where you send them, and every rule shows its source and checked date at doastretch.com/visa. Stretch+ ($49.99/yr) adds what-if planning, on-device GPS logging you confirm at every border, tax-day tallies and the Visa Desk, which prepares your forms with you; you review, pay the government and submit.
Price. Counter, alerts and documents free forever; Stretch+ $49.99/yr. iPhone and Android — join the waitlist.
2. Schengen Simple — the deepest Schengen-only calendar
Roycroft Labs' calculator is the best single-zone tool on either store: allowance under every date, a Passport Control mode for the desk, named human support, 4.8★ from about 2,400 UK ratings, and on Android since April 2025. It counts one rule and charges yearly for it: it fixes the forecast problem, not the one-zone problem.
Price. £7.99–£14.99 a year on the UK App Store; in-app items $8.99–$54.99 on Google Play (checked 17 August 2026). See Schengen Simple vs 90 Days Schengen.
3. Schengen 90/180 Calculator (qrallapps) — free with ads on Android
The best-rated Schengen-only calculator on Play, 4.6★ from 652 reviews: multi-profile, a shareable 180-day report, a manual log for non-Schengen trips. The June 2026 redesign drew "no longer shows end date" complaints, and the free tier carries ads, but as a straight swap it is the closest.
Price. Free with ads; Pro $1.99–$24.99 per item (checked 17 August 2026).
4. The EU's official calculator — the benchmark
The European Commission's web tool is the reference every calculator should agree with, and the one 90 Days Schengen tells you to check when in doubt. It keeps no history, sends no reminders, has no app.
Price. Free. Fine for one calculation, useless for a life on the move.
What decides it
What gets counted, and the number on the screen
90 Days Schengen headlines a "permitted length of stay" that folds in the days you regain while you spend the ones you have; the developer's own capitalised warning is that this is not remaining days. Stretch headlines the days you have now, the date you must be out, and every other country from the same log.
Winner Stretch — the number a border officer would agree with, for every country.
The exit date, reminders and planning ahead
Stretch sets the must-exit date the moment you log an entry, then reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days out and on the day. 90 Days Schengen sends one notification at three permitted days, and only if you left the exit date empty; future trips need the subscription, and the trial wants card details up front.
Winner Stretch — it finds you, and the safety layer costs nothing.
Your trips, and where the rules come from
Both keep your data on the phone, and 90 Days Schengen's data-safety card says no data collected, to its credit. But its Google Drive backup is paid, and reviewers say the restore did not work: "what's the point of allowing you to backup trips if you can't then restore at a later point?" (Michael Lenihan, 3★, April 2022). Stretch has no account and no server, and every rule carries its source and checked date.
Winner Stretch — a backup you control, and rules you can read before you install.
Where 90 Days Schengen still holds its ground
Seven years on the Play Store, fifteen languages, an ad-free screen, and free automatic entry and exit fill-in at the border, which in Stretch is a Stretch+ feature.
Winner 90 Days Schengen — for free border auto-fill and language coverage today.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to 90 Days Schengen on Android?
Stretch is the best 90 Days Schengen alternative on Android because it fixes what the reviews complain about: the days you have now with an exit date and reminders, trips that stay on your phone, and no charge to plan ahead.
Is 90 Days Schengen free?
Partly. History, today's count, the Forecast tab and a three-day notification are free; future trips, a future control date and Google Drive backup need a subscription listed at $4.49 per item on Google Play (checked 17 August 2026). Stretch's counter and alerts are free forever; Stretch+ is $49.99/yr.
Is 90 Days Schengen accurate?
Its arithmetic follows the public 90/180 rule, and the developer tells you to check against the EU's calculator when in doubt. The catch is the headline: "permitted length of stay" includes regained days, the number several 1–3★ reviews say misled them.
Does Stretch calculate the Schengen 90/180 rule?
Yes. Stretch looks back 180 days on every date, shows the days you have now and the date you must be out, and reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days — then counts every other country from the same log.
Can I import my 90 Days Schengen history into Stretch?
There is no import: screenshot your trip history, then re-log the stays with their real dates. The window only looks back 180 days, so that is usually a handful of entries.
Is Stretch on Android?
Yes — Stretch is on iPhone and Android, and the free calculator runs in any browser with nothing installed.
