What to know before you apply

bahamasbeats.com is the Government's own BEATS programme site (footer identifies the Ministry of Financial Services, Trade & Immigration; applications route to portal.immigration.gov.bs and enquiries to a bahamas.gov.bs address), so it is treated as official. Caveat: the Department of Immigration's main site (immigration.gov.bs) does not list BEATS among its permit pages, which list Permit To Reside, Work Permit, Permanent Residence, Resident Spouse Permit, Short Term Work Permit, Re-Entry Permit and Home Owner Resident Permit. No official statement on tax treatment was found, so taxNote is null.

What it means for your tax days

A visa is permission to stay; tax residency follows the days you actually spend. Check Bahamas's tax authority for the day test that applies to you — and count the days either way.
