- For self-employed people and remote workers whose work needs no fixed office. Nationality restriction, verbatim: "The Cabo Verde Remote Working Program is eligible for anyone from Europe, North America, Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) and Economic Community of West African States (CEDEAO)." Also required: passport valid for at least 6 months; travel and health insurance "with coverage for evacuation and body transportation in the case of death"; proof of accommodation booking.

- Apply online through the Remote Working Cabo Verde registration form before travelling. On approval you receive an entry permit. At the airport you must present: a passport valid for at least six months, a copy of the approval letter from the Cabo Verde Tourism Institute, a copy of the visa approval declaration issued by the Directorate of Borders and Foreigners, proof of airport tax payment (EUR 34.00/person) and the individual visa fee (EUR 20.00/person).

What to know before you apply
The programme page is published by Turismo de Cabo Verde (the Cabo Verde Tourism Institute, ITCV), the government body named in the approval letter, so it is tiered official; the visa itself is approved by the Directorate of Borders and Foreigners (DEF). Note the page still carries a COVID-19 entry requirement (negative PCR test or complete vaccination) that is almost certainly stale — no separate government page confirming its removal was reachable. The income test is a bank-balance test, not a monthly-earnings test; this is the single most commonly mis-reported fact about this programme.
