Official definition, verbatim: the Digital Nomad visa "is issued to foreign nationals or stateless persons upon the petition of the authorized state body in the field of digitalization and electronic governance, or to holders of 'Digital Nomad' status engaged in information and communication technologies and the development of software products — with a validity of up to 1 year." So it is a technology-sector route: you either need a petition from the state digitalisation authority or to already hold Kyrgyz "Digital Nomad" status.
Family
Family members are catered for. The Foreigner's family visa (type "FF") "is issued to family members (spouse, children under 18 years of age, parents of underage children, as well as children with disabilities and dependent parents) of an applicant residing on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic on the basis of visas of the categories... Student ("S"), Digital Nomad ("DN")... with a validity of up to 90 calendar days, without the right to engage in employment or individual entrepreneurial activity, or any other activities associated with the generation of profit on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic." Note the family visa is capped at 90 days, well short of the DN holder's 12 months.

What is NOT published anywhere official: income thresholds, fees, processing times, renewal terms, and the practical mechanics of obtaining the "Digital Nomad" status or the digitalisation ministry's petition. Anyone planning around this should contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the digitalisation authority first — several third-party sites present this as an income-tested visa comparable to the European ones, which the official text does not support. Fallback for most remote workers: Kyrgyzstan grants visa-free stays of up to 60 days to nationals of a long list of countries.
