What to know before you apply

The Work From Bermuda One Year Residential Certificate is CLOSED. The Government of Bermuda's own Work From Bermuda page states: 'The Work from Bermuda (WFB) initiative will officially conclude on February 28, 2025.' No new applications have been accepted since that date. The Government states it is transitioning back to multi-year residency applications; those wishing to remain may apply for 'Permission to Reside on an Annual Basis' for periods up to five years, which is a different programme and was not verified in detail here. Historically the WFB certificate cost USD $275 and permitted residence for one year while working remotely, with holders prohibited from seeking or obtaining gainful employment in Bermuda; secondary sources also quote USD $263. Those figures are historical and must not be presented as a live programme.

What it means for your tax days

A visa is permission to stay; tax residency follows the days you actually spend. Check Bermuda's tax authority for the day test that applies to you — and count the days either way.

How does Stretch help with the Bermuda stay?

Log the day you land and Stretch counts the days against the permission you are on, shows the date you must be out, and reminds you at 14, 7, 3 and 1 days. It also tallies the days that count towards tax residency, so the 183-day question answers itself. The counting and the alerts are free, forever.
