What to know before you apply
The E33G sits inside Indonesia's "Rumah Kedua" (Second Home) / Golden Visa family, alongside E33 (Golden Visa), E33A-E33D (government-invited experts, special-skills collaboration, world figures, company founders) and the retiree second-home visas. On the second-home question specifically: E33F is "Visa Rumah Kedua Lansia Untuk 1 Tahun" — 1 year, minimum monthly income USD 3,000, USD 2,000 bank balance over 3 months, Rp 7,000,000 for the 1-year permit. E33E is the 5-year "Visa Rumah Kedua Lansia" Golden Visa for foreigners aged 55 and over — minimum monthly income USD 3,000, USD 2,000 bank balance, plus an immigration guarantee of at least USD 50,000 held in a personal state-bank account; total PNBP Rp 13,000,000; renewable to a total stay not exceeding 10 years; processing four working days. Both are age-gated retiree routes, not remote-work routes, so the E33G is the one that matters to nomads. Family accompaniment on the E33G is not addressed on the immigration page we fetched, so it is left null rather than guessed.
What it means for your tax days
Indonesia treats an individual present for more than 183 days in any 12-month period as a tax resident, and the E33G does not exempt holders from that test. No Direktorat Jenderal Pajak page was fetched for this entry, so this should be verified against the tax authority before relying on it. A visa is permission to stay; tax residency follows the days. Indonesia treats you as tax resident once you are present 183 days More than 183 days within any 12-month period (counted cumulatively, whether the stay is continuous or broken), and residents are taxed on worldwide income. Days are not the only test: Article 2(3) of the Income Tax Law also makes a person a resident tax subject if they are domiciled (bertempat tinggal) in Indonesia, or if within a tax year they are present in Indonesia and have the intention to reside in Indonesia. The full tests and the official source are on our Indonesia tax-day page.
